After spending a lot of time traveling around the world (my last day of work was somewhat in January 2018) I wanted to look for a job which is similar exciting than my previous one at VTB. Well, that turned out to be kind of impossible to achieve.

Anyway I was promised a lot of interesting things and therefore I've accepted the job at Raiffeisen Landesbank. The official job description was Business Analyst, actually I wrote a lot of cross-checks for balance sheet and PnL positions and implemented around 190 data-quality checks in DWH. At the same time, I've joined a project to introduce a new tool for FinRep.

As I've already mentioned - that sounded exciting - initially - so I've changed job internally and since July 2019, I'm working there as a Data Scientist, which is way more exciting than the job I was doing before.

I also participated at the internal innovation award 2019 in risk department, won the second price with the topic Fraud detection and prevention. In 2020 our team won with the topic Document scanner as proposal for generic OCR for any kind of document a customer is providing us with.

Organizer of internal Data Science meetup as a platform for cooperation across departments, also co-organizer of meetup with Raiffeisen Bank International.

Projects I've participated as Business Analyst:

  • BCBS-239 (data lineage, data quality monitoring, system status monitoring)
  • Replacement of existing FinRep tool (selection process, requirements engineering, …)
  • Testing of single point of truth (SPoT) in DWH mainly for FinRep

Projects I've participated as Data Scientist:

  • PoC Hadoop vs. Exasol as kind of datalake
  • Consumer loan related projects (pre-approved loan, consumer loan)
  • Fraud detection/prevention
  • Automated payslip check
  • PoC securities related fraud: Pump and dump
  • OCR of identity documents (passport, id card)

Just to make it clear what I think about this employer… shame on you!!!
